Jay Cutler Diet

It takes a lot of food to build and maintain muscles especially the type that body builder, Jay Cutler has. It takes not only food but also the right kinds and Jay Cutler has it down to a science. Jay Cutler is obviously doing everything right and unlike many athletes, this well-known and open pro bodybuilder willingly shares his diet secrets. One of his first comments is that so many times people ask him about training and forget that nutrition is important to growing and maintaining muscles.

However, a typical day for Jay Cutler when preparing for a show, begins early and yes it begins with food. When dieting for competition he gets up in the night to try to manage 9 - 10 meals a day. He varies dieting times according to his shape, for instance if he had competed earlier that year he said he would only have to train a few weeks while if he was not in top shape he would diet for 17 weeks or so.

Dieting for a body builder like Jay Cutler consists of eating all day every day and training adjusting his diet as his condition requires. His off-season diet for 2008 – 2009 had the athlete pared down to only seven meals a day from the 9 – 10 Jay Cutler takes when dieting for a competition.

Breakfast is meal one and consisted of 20 egg whites, 3 whole eggs, a glass of orange juice, one cup of oatmeal, and water.

The second meal of the day was 8 oz steak and one and one half cup white rise. The third meal was 8 ounces of chicken and one cup brown rice. The fourth meal was 10 oz chicken and three cups rice with onion and garlic.

Meal five consisted of 8 oz chicken and one-cup brown rice.

Meal six consisted of one-cup oatmeal and one banana.

The final meal of the day in the offseason was 14 egg whites and one cup of oatmeal.

What is important to remember is that with Jay Cutler’s diet he also takes nutritional supplements and vitamins to supply important nutritional elements that might not be present on such a strict diet. He adjusts as needed by his body and his current shape and he is consistent in training and eating.

Jay Cutler diet confirms what almost every body builder and athlete knows, that training is vital but nutrition is the fuel to build the muscles from and Jay Cutler is as dedicated to eating as to every other part of his training regimen. To him bodybuilding is not only a joy, but also his profession and he is as serious about it as any Wall Street banker is.
